Automation-as-a-Service

Strategy first. Automation last. That’s what lasts.

If your people spend their days on admin and manual work across a dozen systems, the answer isn’t another quick-fix tool. It’s a strategy — then automation built to it, and run by us, so it keeps working. We’ve done exactly that for fifteen years.

What changes when strategy comes first

The problem

Tools bought, problems unsolved

Every team has picked its own app. None of them talk, the admin hasn’t gone away, and no one owns the whole picture.

The problem

Automation that ages badly

A flow gets built, works for a while, then breaks. Without an architecture behind it, every fix creates the next problem.

The approach

Map before you automate

We start with the process and the outcome you want, quantify where the time really goes, and tell you where NOT to automate.

The approach

One architecture, built to scale

Automation lands last, on a single operating layer designed for your whole estate, so it compounds instead of accreting debt.

Strategy first, automation last

How it works

STRATEGY

Set the direction

We map your processes and admin load, quantify the cost, and agree a sequenced roadmap tied to real outcomes.

CONFIGURE

Build & prototype

A working mockup in week one to confirm your solution.

OPERATE

Run & compound

It lives on our operating layer — monitored, governed and improved by us, so the value grows over time.

In their words

Trusted across complex operations

“bots for that is solving a problem most firms don’t fully realise they have yet — how to manage client obligations, data, and workflows in a post-MTD world without adding layers of complexity.

The platform brings everything together in a really intuitive way, giving a clear view of liabilities, deadlines, and risks across the client base. It feels like the kind of tool that will become essential as compliance demands increase.

Just as importantly, the team behind it understand the needs of the profession and are building with real intent.”

Dean Shepherd · Founder of ESXR

“Bots for That have been brilliant!

They have helped me to understand and use AI better in my business as well as building my an MVP for my pre seed raise and it is amazing!”

Grace Hardy · Founder of Hardy Accounting

“[bots for that] helps us keep on top of the day-to-day mundane bookkeeping, the data entry side of things. It’s allowed us to focus our attention on communicating with clients better.”

Daniel Larcombe · Practice Manager at Future Cloud Accounting

“A team member was off for a week and the bot picked up all their work no problems at all. They pretty much walked straight back into work without a lag in catch up time!”

David Adderson · Founder and Director of Youtopia

“Bots completely transformed the firm. We’re able to rapidly scale and increase our offerings too!”

Chris McKenna · Director at TC Group

“Bots saved 75 FTE over the Cheltenham festival. That’s 600 hours of time the team could use for more valuable work.”

Stephen White · Customer Services Director at Boyle Sports

“The Bot took over the roll of over 100 FTE across Cheltenham. With 54,000 conversations, over 25% were handled by the bot without needing an agent.”

Phil Connolly · Director at William Hill

Common questions

Automation as a Service, answered

What is Automation as a Service?

Automation as a Service means the automation is built and then run for you, rather than handed over as a project that becomes your problem to maintain. We map how your business actually operates, build around the systems you already have, then monitor, own and improve what we have built as an ongoing partnership with a single point of accountability. The distinction matters because most automation does not fail at the build, it fails in the months afterwards when nobody is watching it.

What is an Automation Operating System, or AOS?

An Automation Operating System is a layered architecture that governs how automation is built, connected, governed and maintained across a business, rather than a collection of individual fixes that happen to sit near each other. Every new automation is built on the same foundation, using the same standards, connecting through the same layer, and maintained with the same accountability. It is what stops automation ageing badly and accumulating technical debt.

Why map a process before automating it?

Automating a process nobody has properly mapped tends to produce something fragile that works in the scenario someone pictured and behaves unpredictably the moment it meets an exception. Mapping also surfaces the workarounds a team has quietly built, some of which are catching a real risk the official process was never designed to handle. Automating around one of those without understanding it first is how automation ends up removing a safety net nobody knew existed.

Why not just add another tool or run another pilot?

Adding a tool to a fragmented workflow rarely fixes the fragmentation, it usually adds one more place work can get lost. Similarly, another pilot proves one more narrow idea works under conditions somebody controlled, without closing the real gap, which is that there is no shared architecture capable of taking any proven idea across the whole business. The gain appears when the workflow itself is rebuilt on one architecture, not when another system is added to the pile.

Which work should stay with a person?

Any conversation involving a genuine complaint, a difficult decision or someone who is clearly upset. Negotiating terms or an outcome that depends on reading the situation rather than applying a fixed rule. Any case with no real precedent. And the judgement calls that depend on knowing a specific relationship, not just the data behind it. Automating everything around these moments is what protects the time and attention they actually need.

Start with the strategy. The automation follows.
